CITY OF THE FUTURE: A Design and Engineering Challenge SWEEPSTAKES
OFFICIAL RULES
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID IN PUERTO RICO AND WHERE PROHIBITED.
2. ELIGIBILITY: The History Channel City of the Future: A Design and Engineering Challenge Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, 18 years of age and older as of February 6, 2008. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited. Employees, directors and officers, and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses), and their same household members, of A&E Television Networks ("Sponsor"), Civic Entertainment Group LLC ("Administrator") and each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible to enter. Employees, directors and officers (and their immediate families [as defined above] and their same household members) of any of the three design-firms selected to participate in The History Channel City of the Future: A Design and Engineering Challenge National Contest are also not eligible. Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws.

3. SWEEPSTAKES TIMING: The Sweepstakes begins at 4:00:01 PM Eastern Time (ET) on February 6th, 2008 and ends 11:59:59 PM ET on April 28, 2008 (the "Entry Period").

4. TO ENTER: To enter the Sweepstakes, go to www.historychannel.com/cityofthefuture ("website"), click on the sweepstakes link and follow the on-screen directions, entering all required information and submitting your entry (including your vote for your favorite of the three posted "City of the Future" design submissions in The History Channel City of the Future: A Design and Engineering Challenge National Contest.) Entry will not be accepted unless it contains a vote for only ONE of the three design submissions. The completed online entry form (including your vote) constitutes your entry in the Sweepstakes. Online entry must be received by 11:59:59 PM ET on April 28, 2008 in order to be eligible. Limit one entry per person per email address. Entries that have been generated by a script, macro, both or any other automated means will be deemed void. Duplicate entries submitted by the same email address are void. Proof of emailing does not constitute proof of delivery. Entries become the property of the Sponsor. If a dispute results as to the identity of an entrant, it will be determined that the entry was submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address from which the entry was made. For these purposes, the authorized account holder is the natural person assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

5. WINNER DETERMINATION: Potential winners will be selected in a random drawing on or about May 2, 2008, from among all eligible entries received. The random drawing will be conducted by Civic Entertainment Group LLC whose decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Persons initially selected as potential winners will be notified by phone, email or overnight or U.S. mail within (7) days of drawing. If prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or if winner cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, will result in winner being disqualified, and the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Limit one prize per household. All prizes will be awarded provided a sufficient number of eligible entries are received.

6. PRIZE DESCRIPTION: One (1) Grand Prize. Flat screen television. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $4,000. Twenty-five (25) First Prizes: "Cities of the Underworld" DVD. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $29.99 each. Total ARV of all prizes: $4,899.70. Any difference between the actual value and the ARV will not be awarded. All taxes and any other costs not specifically stated within these Official Rules are the sole responsibility of the winners. An IRS 1099 tax form will be issued to Winners of prizes valued at $600 or more. Prizes may not be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash, except at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize is unavailable for any reason. If winner is deemed a minor in his/her state or place of residence, prize will be awarded in the name of a parent or legal guardian.

7. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: Use of website, including entry in Sweepstakes, is governed by Sponsor's Privacy Policy located at www.history.com/pages/privacy.jsp. By entering the Sweepstakes online, participants acknowledge that they are aware of and agree with the Sponsor's privacy policy. Sponsor may use information which all entrants provide about themselves to send them announcements about Sponsor's products and programs via electronic and ordinary mail. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements. By accepting a prize, winner consents to the use of his/her name, image, likeness, photograph, voice, and biographical material for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes by Sponsor, or a party designated by the Sponsor, including but not limited to, any online announcements , without additional compensation or notice, except where prohibited by law. Entrants release and hold harmless Sponsor, Administrator, their respective parent companies, affiliates, agencies, and their employees, officers, directors and shareholders and agencies ("Releasees") from any claims, actions, injury, loss or damage of any kind, including but not limited to, personal injury or death, resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or from the acceptance, possession, or use or misuse of any prize awarded or participation in any prize-related activity.

8. GENERAL: Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of New York, with venue and jurisdiction in New York County, NY and all claims must be resolved in the courts located in New York County, NY. Releasees are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or stolen entries or transmissions, or problems of any kind, including but not limited to printing errors, whether human or electronic. Releasees are not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, inability to access website or submit an online entry form, fraud, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions or inaccurate transcription of entry information, whether caused by the Sponsor, users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this promotion or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries which may damage a user's system or limit a participant's ability to participate in the promotion. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend part or all of this Sweepstakes at any time without notice, if in the judges' opinion there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes (tampering includes but is not limited to any attempt to manipulate or otherwise improperly affect the voting for design submissions), or if virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or integrity and proper play of the Sweepstakes. In such event, Sponsor may void any entries (and votes) they suspect are at issue and award prizes in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the time/date of cancellation. Caution: Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage the website or any online service related to this promotion or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages (including attorney's fees) from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entrants who violate the rules or interfere with this Sweepstakes in any manner. Sponsor not responsible for typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prizes. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures and other statements contained in any Sweepstakes materials and the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.

9. WINNER'S LIST: To obtain the names of the winners, available after May 5, 2008, mail a self-addressed stamped envelope by May 5, 2008 to: City of the Future Winners, c/o Civic Entertainment Group LLC, 450 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10016.

10. RULES REQUEST: For a copy of Official Rules, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to be postmarked no later than April 28, 2008 and received no later than May 5, 2008, to The History Channel City of the Future Sweepstakes Rules Request, c/o Civic Entertainment Group LLC, 450 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10016. Residents of VT may omit return postage.
