Known as the “polar bear,” Hugh Rowland had proven himself to be the toughest of the tough on the ice. In Season One, he ran his Yellowknife crew so hard that some of his drivers quit. Last season in Inuvik, he proved himself once again as one of the best drivers on the ice. Hugh can drive all night, work all day and still have time to spout lots of opinions about those who fall short of his work ethic. This season, oil is booming in Alaska and he’s joining Alex to make the big bucks. But even though Hugh seems ready and able to take on any challenge, this year’s route is unlike any other. Will the polar bear be reduced to rookie status or will he come out on top in Alaska?
