- Why do you have The History Channel logo in the corner of the screen during programs?
Currently, the average cable system has 35 channels, with some systems having as many as 100. The prediction is that this number will continue to grow and while this growth has given consumers a wider choice, it has also created a challenge. Many viewers choose what to watch by simply "surfing" through the channels until they find something they like. They do not necessarily know what network they are watching. We receive many calls and letters indicating that the on-screen logo helps viewers find THE HISTORY CHANNEL more quickly and that it helps them associate the programs they like with THE HISTORY CHANNEL, making it easier to find it when they want to watch.
- My local programming provider doesnąt currently carry THE HISTORY CHANNEL, what can I do to convince them to carry THE HISTORY CHANNEL?
Each programming provider or cable system makes its own decision regarding which channels they will carry for their subscribers. There may be many reasons why your local programming provider is not carrying THE HISTORY CHANNEL. Lack of channel space is a common problem. Therefore, it is important that you and your friends continue to call your local programming provider or cable company and express your interest in THE HISTORY CHANNEL programming. Viewer demand is the quickest way to convince a local programming provider or cable company to add a new channel. We are in constant negotiations with programming providers and cable systems that do not carry THE HISTORY CHANNEL. Hopefully our efforts, along with your calls to your local programming provider, will result in the addition of THE HISTORY CHANNEL to your line-up.
