Gettysburg: A New Birth of Freedom
HISTORY® is partnering with the Gettysburg Foundation and the National Park Service to bring you Gettysburg: A New Birth of Freedom.
The program features music by the United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own," composed by a West Point Band Army musician, a performance of the national anthem by country music artist Trace Adkins, a keynote address by historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, and “Voices of History,” a dramatic reading of eyewitness accounts written by soldiers and citizens swept into the events of the battle and its aftermath.
The National Park Service cares for America’s 401 national parks and works with communities across the nation to help preserve local history and create close-to-home recreational opportunities.
The Gettysburg Foundation is a non-profit educational organization that enhances preservation and understanding of the heritage and lasting significance of Gettysburg.
