American Women Triumph in the Inaugural Olympic Women's Bobsled Competition in Salt Lake City, 2002
It had been 46 years since the country's last win in bobsledding. For the first time in history, American women had a chance to end the drought. Vonetta Flowers and Jill Bakken did just that, making Flowers the first black athlete to win Winter Olympics gold.
