University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
Established in 1817, the University of Michigan is recognized as the first public university in the Northwest Territories. Originally founded in Detroit, the university moved to it's current location in Ann Arbor in 1873, the same year Michigan became a state. The school is home to a nationally renowned NCAA football team.
