Bonnie Parker has always had dreams bigger than wasting away as an unknown small-town waitress. The aspiring actress, singer and poet pledges herself to a life of crime after falling in love with Clyde Barrow and helping him break out of prison. As the couple graduates from petty crimes to killing sprees, Bonnie pushes Clyde to pull bigger jobs for bigger headlines, helping create the legend of the couple that lives on today.
Holliday Grainger plays Lucrezia Borgia alongside Jeremy Irons in The Borgias and recently appeared with Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes in Mike Newell’s adaptation of Great Expectations in the pivotal role of Estella. She was also seen opposite Jude Law, Keira Knightley and Aaron Johnson in Anna Karenina and with Robert Pattinson in the film drama Bel Ami.
Grainger first garnered attention when she took on the role of Emily in The Scouting Book for Boys, followed by her role as Mollie in Pat Holden’s feature Away Days. Last year, she appeared with Dame Judi Dench, Jamie Bell, Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender in Moira Buffini’s adaptation of Jane Eyre.
Grainger’s extensive television portfolio includes starring roles in the BBC drama Five Daughters, the crime drama Above Suspicion, BBC Three’s Stanley Park, and numerous other BBC and ITV presentations: Demons, Merlin, Robin Hood, Blue Murder, Waking the Dead, Waterloo Road and The Bad Mother’s Handbook, to name a few. Stage credits include Athol Fugard’s 1975 Dimetos.
Grainger is currently in pre-production on Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Cinderella as one of the mean stepsisters. The film also stars Lily James, Cate Blanchett and Richard Madden. Additionally, she has just finished Lone Scherfig’s new film Posh, based on the London stage play of the same name, alongside Max Irons, Douglas Booth, Sam Claflin and Jessica Brown Findlay. The film follows students at Oxford University as they join the infamous Riot Club.
