Meet the Drivers

Tim Brown

Age: 36
Wins at Bowman Gray: 45 Occupation: Suspension manager at Michael Waltrip Racing
Major rival: Burt Myers
Owner: Brown Motorsports, Inc.

Famous for his turbo-charged work ethic, Tim may be the most dedicated driver at Bowman Gray Stadium. His greatest weapon is his lightning-fast car, which boasts the slickest construction and finest equipment in its class. Most nights, he and his team gather at a garage owned by his grandfather, the expert mechanic Eb Clifton, where they work deftly and tirelessly on Tim's pride and joy. Tim brings the same attention to detail to his day job at Michael Waltrip Racing.

Tim's overdrive partly stems from entrenched insecurities about his racing skills. It doesn't help when critics say he doesn't have the guts to pull out all the stops and do what it takes to win. And yet, while Tim openly denounces "old-school racing" and eschews his rivals' more devious tactics, he's been known to help Junior Miller edge out Burt Myers. In the 2008 championship race, this strategy earned Tim a first-place finish.

With seven championships to his name, Tim has little left to prove in the record books, but he still has a whole lot to prove to himself.
