HISTORY Film Corps
Do you think you may have discovered lost footage from the Vietnam War? Submit a written description of these films to be considered for the HISTORY Film Corps project. HISTORY has developed the HISTORY Film Corps preservation initiative to help digitize and restore video footage taken during the Vietnam War. This community outreach project encourages families to gather the lost footage of the Vietnam War and unlock the history contained within these films. Many veterans and their families do not have the financial or technical resources to convert these films. Through HISTORY Film Corps, HISTORY will digitize and convert a selection of Vietnam War-era films submitted through this project, returning the original films and providing DVD copies. In some cases, HISTORY may want to exhibit portions of these films in various media platforms, so you must be the owner of such films and authorized to grant HISTORY these rights. HISTORY Film Corps will also provide tips and online resources to inform the broader public about how to digitize, preserve and transfer film footage.
For many families, this is an opportunity to see their veteran relatives in a new light, and for History, a chance to preserve these treasured films.
