This young Christian monk finds himself in an unfamiliar world after the Vikings raid his monastery. Athelstan is brought to live in Viking society and struggles to maintain his beliefs in an environment very different from his home across the sea.

 

George Blagden

George Blagden was last seen in Universal’s star-studded, award-winning musical, Les Miserables, as the co-starring role of Grantaire with Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper, as well as in Wrath of the Titans. He attended the prestigious Guildhall Drama School on a full scholarship. Immediately after graduation he began shooting his first film, The Philosophers, starring opposite Rhys Wakefield, Sophie Lowe, James D’Arcy and Darryl Sabara.
