War
April 1814

Illustration

In April 1814, the Emperor Napoleon was overthrown, ending the war between France and England. Good news for Europeans, bad news for Americans.

With the French out of the way, the British were free to concentrate on their war with the United States. They brought 14,000 more troops to America.
