On December 14, 1799, the first true American hero passed away; George Washington. Much more occurred on this fateful day in history. December 13 marked the last time Americans would walk on the moon. Apollo 17 marked the last lunar mission for NASA for the 20th Century. This mission finished on December 13, 1972. The South pole was also discovered by a Norwegian named Roald Amundsen on this day in 1911. December 13, 1959 marks the development of the great Motown Records by the great mind of Barry Gordy.
