In 1920, Edward Leedskalnin made Coral Castle to try to win back his lost love. Born in 1887 in Riga Latvia, Edward was engaged to marry Agnes Scuffs. The wedding was called off one day before. In 1918, Edward purchased some land in Homestead, Florida and started to build Coral Castle. Using 1,100 tons of coral Edward sculpted and carved the coral alone and in secret. A nine ton mounted piece of coral can be moved with just one finger. It took a crane and six people to move one piece of coral and Edward did it by himself. He made his own tools for cutting the coral and also made his own electricity. Some say that Edward used the same technique used to build the pyramids.
