Grady Powell is a former U.S. Army Green Beret and Senior Detachment Weapons Sergeant. With tours in Iraq and Northern Africa, Grady is a small arms, mobility and survival expert. As a young adult, he decided to follow in the footsteps of family members who have served, like his grandfather, who was in the 11th Airborne Division during WWII and his father, who was a Green Beret during Vietnam.
After Grady served with distinction in the US Army Special Forces, he started training military, law enforcement and civilians in lifesaving skills, trauma medicine and defensive weapon implementation. His service within the ranks of the world’s most elite, combined with his passion for learning new skills, makes him a knowledgeable and curious host of The HISTORY Channel’s unique competition series, “Forged In Fire.”
He lives by his motto, “You only get one chance to write your story, make it one worth reading”
