On November 6, 1861, Jefferson Davis was elected the first President of the Confederacy. He was also its last president. On November 6, 1961, East Germany sealed off the boarders between West Berlin and East Berlin. This was done to stop the refugees from going west. Lastly, on November 6, 1962, the United Nations condemned the Apartheid of South Africa. Their racist ways led to decade long sanctions on South Africa.
