Ice Road Runs: Saskatchewan

Zach Harris has been driving trucks since before most kids learned to ride a bike. For years, he’s managed the family farm and the shop at Harris & Sons, working behind the scenes while his younger brother Riley spent most of his time behind the wheel of a big rig. Now, with their father Shaun preparing to hand over the business, it’s Zach’s turn to step up and take on the ice roads for the first time.

He’s got to learn every part of the family business—including how to survive the deadly northern wilderness. Though he’s always been the steady, level-headed manager compared to Riley’s high-octane style, Zach’s had his share of road mishaps. In fact, within the family, those slip-ups behind the wheel earned a name of their own: “Zach-cidents.”

Carrying the weight of family expectations—and the haunting memory of an uncle who died after falling through the ice in Northern Saskatchewan—Zach knows his mission: avoid any more “Zach-cidents,” earn his stripes on the ice, and, most importantly, make it home safe to his wife and young child. With the future of Harris & Sons on the line, this ice road rookie isn’t just learning the ropes—he’s carving out his place in the family legacy.
