Seven years ago, Arön and Jen Toland left everything behind to take over an abandoned fishing lodge deep in the British Columbia wilderness, pouring their energy and every spare dollar into building a remarkable off-grid homestead where they hunt, fish, and grow roughly 90% of their own food entirely from the land around them. Arön is a true jack-of-all-trades — capable of milling his own lumber and building just about anything from the ground up — and together he and Jen have transformed an abandoned outpost into an ambitious, self-sustaining operation centered around a bold new lodge they are constructing by hand.
