Marty Meierotto
Deep in the interior of Alaska, hundreds of miles from civilization, trapper and bush pilot Marty Meierotto spends every winter living in a primitive one-room log cabin. During the brief daylight hours, he travels many miles by snowmobile, braving subzero temperatures to set and check his traps. Marty came to Alaska in the early 1980s to be a full-time trapper and soon learned how to fly a bush plane to travel farther into the vast wilderness of the Last Frontier. A husband and father, Marty is passing down his adventurous spirit and knowledge of the outdoors to his daughter, Noah – an aspiring pilot and Alaskan explorer in her own right.
