Pablo Arguelles
Season 12Age: 55
Hometown: Jacksonville, FL
Profession: Video Editor
Born in Cuba, Pablo’s love for the outdoors came at a very young age. He spent his childhood running around barefoot, playing, trapping, fishing, and hunting birds with his dad or practicing with a slingshot with friends in the woods. Growing up in a creative family, he often made his own toys, slingshots, and spears, and at 11 years- old, he even made his first crossbow.
In December of 1980, Pablo left Cuba to come to the United States for a better life with his parents and his sister. He left behind his three older brothers, not knowing when he would see them again. His parents moved Pablo to Southern California where he would go to school, learn English, and begin his new life. It wasn’t until 1994, when two of his brothers escaped Cuba on a raft they built and went through two storms trying to reach the United States. They eventually reunited with Pablo and his parents in California, and his eldest brother came years later with
his own family.
Pablo has always been very active, enjoying various activities, from skiing and motocross to martial arts, bushcraft, and archery. His love for the outdoors is where his heart is—the place where he feels most connected to God and nature.
After so many obstacles and challenges, Pablo is very excited and proud of the opportunity to be on Alone. To him, this is an American Dream come true. He believes the harder you fight for your dreams, the bigger the reward.
Pablo would not be who he is today without God, the love and support of his family, and his beautiful fiancee, Iraldy, she has been a blessing since they met, and she’s the backbone of his life and encourages him to always be himself, to pursue and fight for his dreams and never give up.
